Foodie Share! and 2 Drinks! :)

Happy SUNNY Tuesday!! :) I have a little (ok sorta BIG) foodie and drink share for ya! Been saving them to do them all at once!! :) That is your WARNING..it is a BIG post! LOL!! so Ignore the little I said earlier! :)

Today the kiddos and I made these for snack.. NO none for me! I am being a good girl.. concert in TWO and a half weeks.. shorts to fit in.. EEK! :) anyway.. they just went to the park with these, and some capri suns to share with their buddies!
Easy Peasy... 3 marshmallows on a stick.. dipped in melted choc. and rolled in sprinkles! FUN STUFF! :)





















The next 2 I am gonna share I got from Michelles Blog.. She is one of the SUPER talented PTI girls I LOVE to stalk..(In the BEST/NICEST form of stalking that is!)

First up is this salad... YUM! I used corn that I roasted on the BBQ instead of frozen (I love to do that during the summer!) and added some garlic to the dressing!! It was YUMMY!! Next day left overs were topped with grilled chicken for my lunch! YUM-O!





















and then I made THIS DRINK! YUMMY!! I did make it ADULT by using Smirnoff Lime Vodka.. oh my.. I could sit all day and drink them! Probably NOT to good for me to do that! LOL!!! I even bought a BIG mason jar to put mine in.. hoping to have some SUMMERTIME fun with friends on the deck!! :)





















Lets do both drinks together... Amanda wanted this book Tiny Treats so she saved her $ and we ordered it... it has some CUTE FUN ideas... here is the first thing she made... A tiny shake... made with strawberry yogurt, whip cream, and powdered pink lemonade- I gotta say it was GOOD (SURPRISINGLY!)... we all liked it.. BUT AMANDA.. hee hee.. go figure! :)





















Next up is our dinner I made last week.. I LOVE summer when you can get such YUMMY fresh veggies... this is just something I made up.. I go to the Everett Farmers Market as often as I can.. and there is a stand Golden Glen Creamery that sells YUMMY homemade cheeses.. so many flavors.. this time I got Sun dried Tomato and basil... yummy.. so all I did was roast my veggies, grill some chicken.. toss it all with some WW penne pasta.. added the cheese which I had grated.. put in a bit of milk to smooth it all out.. YUM! Good left overs too! :)















Then I made this for a snack... YUMMY! It is called Roberts Corn Dip from one of my Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks... I think I should get to call it BETHS Corn Dip since I changed it up! :)
















Here is the recipe as it was.... Best made up 1-2 days in advance (but was YUMMY the moment I made it! :) )
Robert's Corn Dip
3 11-oz. cans sweet corn & diced peppers, drained
7-oz. can chopped green chiles
6-oz. can chopped jalapeños, drained and liquid added to taste
1/2 c. green onion, chopped
1 c. mayonnaise
1 c. sour cream
1 t. pepper
1/2 t. garlic powder
16-oz. pkg. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
corn chips

Mix all ingredients except corn chips together and refrigerate. Serve with corn chips for scooping. Makes about 6 cups.

Here is what I did DIFFERENT!
3 grilled corn on the cobs
1/2 a roasted red pepper (on the BBQ..is how I made mine!)
NO jalapenos (No one likes them but me! LOL!)
1/4 cup red onion
1/2 can black beans..
Used fresh garlic instead of garlic powder!
Used lowfat mayo and S/C

This was sooooo GOOD! I made it up one day ahead of time... we ate it for 2 days and STILL had lots left over! LOL!!!

Friday Favs!

Happy Friday!! :) We are home.. had a GREAT time on our little get away... took TONS of photos.. it makes me laugh.. it is the same trip we do every year.. yet I take over 300 photos! :) Hey that is a moms job right!! :)

So on that note today my top 5 will be photos from our trip.. I will share the other 345 with ya another day! ;)

#2- Tattoo's :) the kids and I like to get them... next time we will TRY to talk Dad into getting one! :) (yes they are fake.. hee hee in case you couldn't figure it out!)
















#3- MOM winning BIG on the wheel of fortune game in the arcade at the beach.. I hit that 500 tickets THREE times! :) and even a 300... Oh yeah the kids LOVED me extra that day!!





















#4- ICE CREAM...need I say more.. we go to scoopers every year for ice cream at the beach.. and of course Amanda has to give Daddy the ice cream kiss (that photo is coming soon! :) )















#5- and last but NOT least.. LOVE doing just this on the beach.. walking, sitting.. enjoying the moment... ahhhh I could live there... EASILY! :)

PTI BLOG GROUP CHALLENGE!

First off.. THANKS for all the sweet words about the 1/2 Marathon... I have to say I didnt RUN!!... I did WALK.. I dont think I put that.. didnt want to lead you all on that way! LOL!!

Happy JULY!! My gosh where did June go?? We are getting ready for some 4th FUN!! It was my turn to post a challenge for our PTI blogging group!!!

I have been so busy getting ready for our get away... so I thought I would make my share tonite ALSO my challenge!!! :)

So here ya go girls!! Not to hard! (and Katy) I am soooo gonna get to yours when I get back! PROMISE!! I got an idea just the other day!! :) )

You can create ANYTHING you want but should follow these 3 things (if you are able!)
#1 Use a color you dont usually use (for me it is the purple)
#2 Add some inking (inked my edges)
#3 Give it AWAY! (if you can! this is going to our neighbors!)

Here is what I did.. super easy.. but I had to get them done, and... I didnt want to be the slacker in the group with a late challenge!!!

The kiddos and I made this honey butter today.. I am not sure you can taste any lavender in it.. BUT that is what they told me it was infused with and it is on the jar.. so it has to be right! LOL!! :)

Rock & Roll 1/2 Marathon Share!

Happy Monday!! Well I SURVIVED the R & R 1/2 Marathon on saturday!! I had a goal of 3:45:00.. about mile 6 I figured I was on pace to hit the 3:30:00 mark.. so a new goal was set... and off I went.. I finished in 3:29:57 minutes! WAHOOO!!

We left about 4am to head down to catch the bus to the start line.. good thing we did.. buses were backed WAY UP.. and one got there minutes before the race.. we saw people running to start...

The race was going for one hour before we got to the start line.. we were in the last corral.. had a GREAT time... so glad I did it.. gonna do it next year.. with a GROUP of people.. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE! :)

Other then having sore feet.. and hips! I felt GREAT.. I went to bed EARLY saturday and by sunday I was fine.. ready to go again?!! OK maybe not.. but was very HAPPY with myself!!

Got to go to lunch with Larry, Kimmie and Buggy afterwards to Bahama Breeze (YUM!) then home for a nap.. LOL!!

YES I did take my camera on the walk.. and NO I wasnt the only one.. :) I am sharing about 20ish photos.. I took about 50! HA HA!! :) I put them in a slide show for ya.. THANKS for stopping by and taking a look!!!

YIPPPEEE it is that time of the month! PTIs BLOG HOP!!


This month you had to use something that inspired you about summer!! EVERYTIME I put out this table cloth my mom made me oh.. 14 summers ago ~ it just says SUMMER!! and how can you not think summer with a picnic basket!!!























So I used Laurens new template, my new fruit stamp set.. some OLD school CTMH paper.. and made this up.. you cant tell but I stitched the basket to make it looked weaved.. well you can see that but it has darker thread.. inked the edges and there she is..

Happy SUNNY (for the moment!) Wednesday!!!

I have a couple shares for ya!! First off looky what I WON last week from Leah! she made the cutie pie crocheted goodness there! SO PRETTY~ THANKS again Leah!



















Next up a couple shares.. first one is for 2 challenges I did.. Kristii at Color Me Daisy had a card sketch challenge for June... I just moved the embellie to the other side... love how fun and quick the sketch was!! This PP is all my 6 X 6 BG lime ricky pad! a bit BRIGHT but very fun!!





















The second challenge was by Melissa at Moments 2 Remembers Blog.. create your own flower! and crinkle it.. then crinkle it again! Added some copics on the flowers, a K & Co. flower center.. colored my pearls to match with my copics.. some stitching a stamp sentiment (hero arts) and done! Fun FAST and easy!


Next up is a LO I did from when I got to meet Mara when we were in Santa Monica for Spring Break! Such a FUN time.. I have to get side 2 finished up.. then the LO will be a bit more balanced.. but I REALLY want my charm this month from M2R so I took Colleens challenge to paint on the LO!!





















Used my NEW big punch for the scallops on this one! and I used a super cute vintage stamp in the corner.. (cant see it to well!) it was perfect in blues with a palm tree!

Friday Favs....

YIPPEEE Summer vacation has officially started!!!.... AND it RAINED most of the day! GO FIGURE!!!! :) But it is nice to have no routine for awhile!!!

Justins last few days of grade school went well... he is happy, sad , excited and nervous all at the same time for next year!!!

Amanda is about the same she loved her class AGAIN this year.. she has had some GREAT classes there.. we have been lucky.. GREAT GREAT teachers for the kiddos!

Ok on to Friday Favs..

#1- ROSES! These are blooming in my yard!!! :)





















Not to bad for a rose that was half dead before Steve got it planted for me! My grandparents gave me this about 5 years ago for Mothers Day.. I LOVE the color!!!

#2- STRAWBERRIES! These are growing in our garden! YUM! Already picked a bowl full and had strawberry shortcake! YUMMY!





















#3- WINE FRIDAY!! (the boat! :) ) Taking her out this weekend for our first trip.. so cant wait... HOPE the rain stays away!!!


















#4- UPS.. need I say more! LOL!! Love when they stop by the house and bring a box to me!! :)
















#5- The 3rd Friday of the Month.. BUNKO.. and that means Moms night out!! SO EXCITED!!! Gotta share these FAVS.. wrap Steves dads day gift.. and get ready to go!!

Tuesday Fun! :)

Happy Tuesday!! It is a BIG day in the Johnson house!! THIS BOY.....





















Is having his 6th grade recognition program today (graduation to me! LOL!) last year of grade school.. WHERE did the time go.... He is excited and nervous.. and looking forward to BIG ADVENTURES! (not to big I hope! LOL!!)

His program is at 1pm today.. I got to help alot with it.. last night we decorated.. it is a Cruise theme.. so inside the gym is like your on a cruise ship.. so gonna get LOTS of photos today!! :) Then after school gonna have a little BBQ here for him AND to celebrate my moms birthday!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!

Tomorrow is the Justins classes big PARTY.. bowling then a picnic.. should be fun.. AND the weather is supposed to hold!
A mom donated some candy for prizes.. I didnt think you should let 88 kids have a free for all of 530 pieces of candy! So I did the up in little bags and used my PTI star stamp, and circle punch.. just stapled them closed.. they arent super fancy.. BUT when you have 88 to do.. not enough time for fancy.. besides the kiddos wont care.. they will want what is inside! HA HA!!

Happy Friday!! and my Friday Favs!

Happy SUNNY Friday! Oh my... so much SUNSHINE here in our little corner of WA. state.. whatever is a girl to do! :) Take out the boat... sigh.. soon very soon!! ANYWAY.. if we have no rain sat. or sunday we break a record of the longest dry spell for May and June.. so I have been told! :) It is just PREFECT for me... Mid 70s... the house is in the 70s.. ahh.. if only I could see the Ocean it would be PERFECT! Ok it is pretty darn near perfect with out the ocean.. but..... hee hee! Hey a girl can dream..

Little Share.. and Field Day!

Happy SUNNY Wednesday~ LOVING our weather this week.. Sunny and not to hot! (Like last week! EEK not that I am complaining.. ok maybe a little 90 is to warm for me in June! LOL!!) this week in the 70s.. just perfect! :)

Ok on with some fun.. NOW this isnt one of my best cards.. and it wasnt meant to be! My Amanda saw her friend get a lunch bag note.. and asked why I didnt do them.. I dont know.. my mom sent them to me.. (I WISH I had saved them.. sigh.. ) ANYWAY.. she loved the CUTE little fairies I got last week... From All that scraps so I printed her out one.. I bought the stamps in DIGI form.. LOVE that.. they take up no space in my room and I can resize them anyway I want! :) anyway.. printed her.. used my COPICS! (LOVING them!!) and colored her in! I WISH you could see all the sparkle! I used my copic Spica pens (never knew they were copics til a couple weeks ago! LOL!) ANYWAY.. she just glitters.. I mounted her on Rasp. Fizz CS, inked with lemon tart ink ~ use a RF ribbon, and LT button (all from PTI) put her on a small white note card I cut and snuck her in Amandas lunch.. I hope she likes it!! :)





















I am still learning how to use my Copics (so NO!! laughing at my color job! lol..oh I said no laughing.. :) ).. I found a GREAT Blog HERE lots of GREAT info... I need to sit for about a week and look at all that is shared... I want to get REALLY good with them!! :)

Now a fast share of the kiddos! THANKS if you have made it this far! Yesterday was field day at the school.. it is a fun day the 6th graders run for the other classes.. Justins group did the rope climb... He was in charge of timing and writing down the times of the kids!





















Amanda wanted to do his station first.. so she did...





















She wanted to ring that bell at the top... and SHE DID! :) I could NOT have made it!





















She did get a couple blisters.. eek! I guess they found gloves to help with that... it was not pretty! She is still proud!


FUNNY STORY... I was showing them photos today.. and Justin said when he saw the one of her ringing the bell... Amanda welcome to the blog.. you made the post today! HA HA!! oh that made me LOL!!!

Dinner, Dessert, and a Card! :)

Happy Saturday!!! Hope your all having a GREAT day.. ours has been nice.. went to the schools family fun run today! Justin and I did the 3 miles.. Amanda and Steve did the 1 mile! Then home...errands, creative time! and a YUMMY (if I do say so myself! dinner! and dessert!!) I felt like pasta.. really I felt like a trip to Italy.. BUT that wasnt gonna happen so I settled for yummy pasta and a glass of wine! :)

Here is what I whipped up - the boys are happy there is leftovers! You know it must be pretty good if they are happy for left overs! :) it is my own recipe, pasta, fire roasted tomatos, ital. sausage, wine, roasted pepper, onion, mushrooms, artichokes, fresh basil from our garden, kalmata olives, and Parm. Cheese.. and some garlic of course! a little butter too.. shhh dont tell my diet! :)
















Then for dessert I whipped up some of these yummy mini cherry cobblers.. I added some nuts, vanilla, and cinnamon to the cherries.. and made the biscuits with bisquick, van. soy milk (shhh dont tell!) and some sugar.. Yep boys are happy left overs of these too! :)





















and finally a card share! Leah issued a challenge for our PTI blog group to make a flat one layer card... harder then I thought!! But I was happy to get it done!

For my card I was inspired by Cheryl she used Friends til the End.. and then I remembered a card I made a few years ago, and used the same LO basically.. I used my glimmer chalks to color it, and edge it.. also used my new Spica glitter pens all over too!! I was pretty happy with it! Amanda loved it.. hmmmmm maybe she will get it! :)




















Thanks for a FUN challenge Leah! Now to find out what our group #4 is!! My turn is coming next for #5 or #6.. I gotta get thinking!!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

Happy Friday!! I am so EXCITED for the weekend!! Ours is full of FUN stuff!!! FINALLY cooled down.. we hit 91 yesterday.. for the first week of June that is CRAZY I tell ya!!! I wasnt ready for it! Today it is a nice 70 something.. and a bit breezy.. if only I could see a beach out my window it would be PERFECT!!! :)

So I had HOPED to share some cards today.. but NOOOO to hot to create! I want to get my PTI blog group challenge done.. it was due yesterday! EEK! I will.. I WILL!!! :)
and I need to work on Thank You gifts and cards for the teachers... AND make up 90 cute little treat bags for Justins BIG party on the 17th! Busy me! and it isnt supposed to be 90 again so I should be fine! :)

SOOOO PTI started PEEKS of their JUNE release... OH my I am in TROUBLE... BIG TROUBLE.. and there has only been ONE peek! I gotta get stuff on ebay... :) LOL!!

New Trees, A Rock, and A Card! :)

Happy SUNNY Monday.. we have had such BEAUTIFUL weather for a week now.. they SAY it is gonna last a few more days! I hope THEY are right! :)

We had a GREAT weekend...it went to darn fast I tell ya!!!

Wanted to share a couple photos of our new trees.. and Dwayne "the rock" Johnson! (LOL!!!)

Steve has been researching trees for awhile now.. and knew what he wanted for 2 of them.... here they are...




















For the other one he said what do you think? Um this one.. it is so PURTY.. so he got it.. no info on it or anything .. just that I liked it.. ahhhh what a guy!! (He later read it can get up to 75 feet... EEK! hee hee! :) and in the photo you can see Dwayne "THE ROCK" Johnson! HA HA!! Steve found it buried when he was digging the tree holes.. he washed it.. Yeah he is like that! :) and said he was keeping it.. and naming it.... ok fine.. so he says I like The Rock ... So I said hey we can call it Dwayne for short as in the actor/former wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.. Steve liked it so well ~ that is its full name!! YES we are a bit SILLY here! HA HA!!!





















So cant WAIT for them to fill out a bit more... they look so nice in our yard!!!

LOVING using Kraft paper with the white on it!!! and cant stop using yellow!!!!





















I have ONE more thing for ya.. then I will get my stuff done before my friend arrives for lunch!

I LOVE everything Nicole and the team shared.. all links are on her page.. and she shares some GREAT flower links too.. I had to share it.. I also had to order the book she linked.. I so want to learn to crochet flowers.. my mom said she would help me! I figure if all else fails.. I can use the book for paper inspiration too! :)
